New · Huddle 5.0 is here

A private home for the people you love.

Your friends will probably recommend it anyway.
The opposite of social media

Every memory, every voice, every late-night chat — in one place that's only yours.

Photos as crisp as the day they happened.

0:03

Real voices, not just text.

Shared with the seven who matter.

Developed with the community.

End-to-end encrypted

Only you and your people hold the keys. Not even we can read a thing.

Made in Germany

Under some of the strictest privacy laws in the world.

Ad-free, forever

You're not the product — there's nothing to sell.

New in 5.0

One update — a whole new level.

A redesigned feed

Five views — Moments, Gallery, Ticket, Journal, Photos — and your feed switches live as you try them.

Workouts, music & plans

Attach a workout, the song you were listening to or a calendar event straight to a memory.

Home-screen widgets

Your favourite huddles right on the home screen — the latest moments without opening the app.

Memories as films

Turn a look-back into a real video — your photos, gently animated with music, created entirely on your device.

Attach files

Tickets, PDFs and documents live alongside your photos — encrypted like everything else.

Every huddle, one timeline

One feed that blends all your huddles in date order — the complete look back at once.

Plus: live comments, favorites, GIFs in comments, sharing into several huddles at once, finer album controls — and a lot of speed under the hood.

So… how much?

Nothing. Ever.

Every feature, free for good — no ads, no catch. The only thing you can ever buy is a little extra storage. That's how we stay independent.

One space, endless shapes

Whatever your circle looks like — it fits in here.

For couples

A shared timeline of your life together — trips, voice notes, little moments only you two get.

For families

Grandma sees the photos in full quality — without posting your kids to a public feed.

For close friends

The group that never loses a plan, an inside joke or a 3 a.m. voice message again.

Managed

For teams & businesses

New in 5.0: the huddle's creator covers the storage — everyone else just joins. Built for teams, clubs and projects.

…and any small crew that matters. Every Huddle is its own private space — up to seven people.

Real Huddles

This is what people do with it.

Tom & Lara

Keep every journey in one album — each photo pinned to the place it happened.

Their idea, now in Huddle

Kyle

Writes to himself: a mood, a place, the weather — a quiet diary of getting out more.

Their idea, now in Huddle

James & Kyle

Long-distance, so they leave each other memories that only open in the future.

Their idea, now in Huddle

Peter, Tobias & Charles

Three friends who don't see each other enough, saving every stupid, perfect idea.

Johanna

Makes every Huddle hers — her colours, her details, down to the last pixel.

Names changed. Huddle is end-to-end encrypted — they told us themselves.
From the developer

Built on a holiday, in a long-distance relationship.

Huddle started on vacation, in the middle of a long-distance relationship. We wanted one private place for our photos, voice messages and plans — and every app we tried either didn't seem to care about privacy, or threw ads and aggressive pricing in our faces.

So I'm building the app I want to use myself — end-to-end encrypted, honestly free, without ads. I've been building apps professionally for five years; Huddle is the most personal thing I've ever made.

Before you ask

A few honest answers.

What's the difference to WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is a messenger — built for fast chats with anyone. Huddle is a private home for the same small circle. The memories timeline, the seven-person cap, albums and original-quality photos are built around long-term shared life — not single messages that scroll away and vanish.

Why a maximum of seven people?

Because closeness doesn't scale. Research on relationships keeps finding the same thing: real intimacy lives in very small circles. Capping every Huddle at seven keeps it quiet and personal — no noise, no performing for an audience, just real memories and real interaction with the people who actually matter.

Is it really end-to-end encrypted?

Yes — using the Signal Protocol, the same standard behind Signal and WhatsApp. Everything is encrypted on your device before it ever reaches us, so only you and your people can open it. We never hold the keys — not even we can see your memories.

And what does “free” actually mean?

Free means free. Every feature, forever — no ads, no tracking, no dark patterns, and we never sell your data. The only thing we ever charge for is optional extra storage. That's the whole business model.

Bring your people home.
